Project Description & Details

An urban green garden appeared in the center of Rostov in 2011 at the Neskuchnyi Restaurant, a place for all occasions whether it be a business meeting, a romantic date or a chance meeting with old friends. The owner suggested the idea for a greenwall as the centerpiece of the eclectic yet elegant décor, and the interiors were totally renovated in accordance with the new green design.

The design, installation and maintenance team of RaStenia created a Patrick Blanc-inspired 24 m² hydroponic greenwall and planted it with more than 800 plants to work with the vegetation palette of the southern Russian city. Challenges included the water turning out to be very mineral heavy due to agricultural conditions of the region plus the mounting of a plasma screen within the green surface. Yet the stunning greenwall has created a colossal impression with patrons and the owners use the unique screen to set different moods and highlight events with changing graphics within the living vertical surface of the restaurant.
