We are very happy to be able to once again explore the opportunities of rooftop use during a physical event in Rotterdam on June 3 2022! 

The full day programme exists of 3 distinctive parts, the last of which can be joined online from all around the world.

In the morning, we will start the day with a visit to the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk. Rotterdamse Dakendagen initiated this installation that connects rooftops in the city centre with a spectacular air bridge across the Coolsingel. While walking across and between buildings, you can experience how innovative rooftop use can contribute to a brighter future for cities and city-dwellers worldwide.

After this visit, and with a packed lunch in hand, participants will continue their day with one of our Lunch Workshops taking place on various rooftops undergoing a transformation in the city centre.

The afternoon consists of plenary sessions at ‘The Podium’, a temporary lookout platform on top of Het Nieuwe Instituut, serving as the central location of the Rotterdam Architecture Month 2022. The installation is designed by MVRDV, who also designed the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk together with us.Together with AIR (Architecture Institute Rotterdam) we organise a programme full of international keynote speeches, panel discussions and more! Here we will focus on the four central ‘sensitive’ themes we announced earlier: Rooftop Feeling (a neologism of the Dutch Dakgevoel), Green Rooftops, Public Space and Regulations.

We will conclude the Knowledge Day with networking drinks so participants have the opportunity to get to know each other at a special rooftop location. On top of that, you are also invited to join our opening of Rotterdamse Dakendagen Festival (3-5 June) at Luchtpark Hofbogen that same evening!

The programme is based around four central themes: Rooftop Feeling, Green Rooftops, Public Space & Regulations.

ROTTERDAMSE DAKENDAGEN FESTIVAL 2022

From Friday June 3rd until Sunday June 5th we will organise another edition of the Rotterdam Rooftop Days. During the festival you can discover many rooftops throughout the city. This year, we will put together exciting routes across several rooftops, with on every rooftop a surprising way to use the space and/or to look at the city. We also will have our central rooftop  with music, food, drinks and fun.

EXCLUSIVELY IN 2022: THE ROTTERDAM ROOFTOP WALK!

Rotterdam Rooftop Walk is a route on rooftop level, including an air bridge between WTC Rotterdam and the Bijenkorf. Take a walk through a vision of the layered city! We designed it together with architecture firm MVRDV. From the 26th May until the 24th June 2022.
