“A green roof covers two-thirds of the project. This roof provides sanctuary for patients, family members, and staff while reducing stormwater runoff, noise pollution, and the project’s contribution to the urban heat-island effect. It also provides habitat for wildlife and reduces the building’s cooling load,” (BuildingGreen.com).
