Regency Rambla Design Apart Hotel
Carrasco, Uruguay
129 sf. Greenwall
Project Description & Details
A small hotel located by the beach, the Regency Rambla Design Apart Hotel has the first hydroponic Living Wall in Uruguay. R. Margoniner Arquitectos is a family architectural firm which develops, designs and constructs its own projects; the son was tasked with resolving the design of the dividing walls within the private swimming pool area.
Adrian decided to try building a green wall and with research and hard work, they designed a custom system based on French Botanist Patrick Blanc’s designs. Four planes conform a curve at an angle determined by the urban landscape. 60cm modules hang on an independent wooden structure and 8 species of plants grow in a hydroponic circulation medium rooted in Rockwool.
