Now that 2015 has come to a close and the fall conferences are over, we’d like to share our 2015 Top 10 List of Hot Trends in Greenroof & Greenwall Design PowerPoint as a video on our GreenroofsTV channel on YouTube.
Haven Kiers, our Design Editor, and I presented it last year at CitiesAlive in fabulous New York City and I flew solo with the presentation in gorgeous, lush Singapore at the International Skyrise Greenery Conference.
2015 was our ninth year of compiling our dynamic Top 10 List, and you know we systematically search the globe high and low to highlight exciting and important new projects from local and international designers to thrill, invigorate, and inspire you. Sometimes part newsworthy, spectacular, even fantastical, these forward-thinking designs and designers offer unforgettable projects that need to be celebrated.
In addition to unique examples of client specific boutique greenroofs and walls that always defy categorization, the buzz in 2015 encompassed trends from across the globe that had been building momentum for the past few years in our design profession, such as:
Beekeeping on the roof:
And mega projects designed to increase the health and well-being of their occupants:
As usual, we start out with a couple of projects that for some reason or another just couldn’t quite make it in our Top 10 List…and then we go on to the real thing!
We always have a great time sharing our annual list of trending categories and far-flung projects from across the world, and we hope you enjoy it here:
I hope to see many of you in person at a physical conference this year where Haven and I will be presenting our 2016 Top 10 List of Hot Trends in Greenroof & Greenwall Design. And if not, I hope we’ll connect online and via social media for our upcoming Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ Virtual Summit 2017 in about a year from now.
Until then, see you soon, and remember to:
Love the Earth, Plant a Roof (or Wall)!

Linda, wow. you’ve come a long way. What a fantastic slide show of the years collection. I am sorry that the only one I’ve seen is the Fenway Farm(and ate it for dinner). Hope to see more this year.
