3rd Annual Kingsland Wildflowers Festival
We are excited to invite the North Brooklyn and surrounding NYC community to the 3rd Annual Kingsland Wildflowers Festival this Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 12pm-4pm @ 520 Kingsland Ave, Brooklyn, New York.
The festival will celebrate the third season of our green roof and community engagement space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Visitors will explore four flourishing green roofs that have been planted with a mix of indigenous grasses and wildflowers native to the New York landscape.
The 3rd Annual Kingsland Wildflowers Festival invites local residents to explore the 22,000 square foot green roofs while adding an educational component with community organizations tabling and running activities to engage families and children. The festival offers access for many Brooklyn residents to learn about environmental initiatives while exploring green infrastructure dedicated to native plants and birds.
The Festival will feature the newly-brewed Safe Flight IPA. This special brew was concocted by Kings County Brewers Collective in partnership with NYC Audubon to raise awareness about window strikes, which kill nearly a billion birds each year.
