1st Round of LIVE Speaker Q&As

Did you participate in our 1st Round of LIVE Speaker Q&As last week?  We used Zoom for the first time, and I have to say it’s a great product, way superior to Facebook Live which we used at the last Virtual Summit in 2017.  Zoom is very easy and intuitive to use, with such great video quality.

Unfortunately, Agritecture Founder and Managing Director & Sustainability Strategist HENRY GORDON-SMITH‘s live Q&A had to be cancelled due to flight delays, and will be rescheduled along with the 2nd Round in mid-January.  Henry has an amazing understanding of the urban vertical farming experience, and his Keynote video “The Economics of Vertical Farming” is simply not to be missed!

We did hear from KALLY GOSCHKE & STEVE, Homeowners & Friends of Luck Dog in chilly Henderson, Minnesota.  Kally’s Luck Dog’s Grass Shack in Minnesota is a wonderful video, bringing awareness to comfortable and sustainable animal housing while sharing their practical details on the construction on the native greenroofed dog shelter.

Kally says their cow herding Luck Dog’s Grass Shack keeps the working canine warm during the harsh North American prairie winters and and between 15-20°F cooler in the hot summers.

ARAMIS & I also held our Q&A, discussing our experience so far with Greenroofs.com’s 5th biennial Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ Virtual Summit 2019, and shared some of our plans for the new year.

Finally, Landscape Designer & Sustainable and Circular Economy Based Urbanism Consultant CHRIS JONES, of KuiperCompagnons and Drawdown Switzerland, had a fantastic Q&A.  As a landscape architect, Chris has done some great work around the world which you can learn about in his excellent Feeding Cities: Fixing Cities!

Chris was joined by Drawdown Switzerland founder John Moorhead, and together they held an extremely enlightening and informative session on science- and nature-based solutions to tackle a sustainable climate change program.  They shared what is being done and what can be done in Switzerland, Europe, and beyond.

More Live Events in January

We’re planning more Live Events in mid-January, including the 2nd Round of Speaker Q&As – with the holidays, these will be confirmed next month, but stay tuned at the #VirtualSummit2019 Q&A page – we certainly expect to have a lot more Speakers available to chat with you via video on Zoom!

We’re also excited to hold a Live EXPO Day being scheduled in mid-January, too where we’ll hold via Zoom with each of our Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ Virtual Summit 2019 Sponsors & Exhibitors.  We’ll post the special Live EXPO Day and times, too, on the #VirtualSummit2019 Q&A page when determined.
