(April 21, 2022) – Detec Systems is excited to announce that the company has received FM Approval for the IntegriScan Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) testing equipment under FM’s new leak detection product classification. The IntegriScan equipment is used in conjunction with TruGround® Conductive Primer for quality control ELD testing in conventional roof assemblies. Detec’s IntegriScan is the ONLY FM Approved listing for Manual Scanning Roof Leak Detection equipment. Detec Systems offers risk mitigation and loss control solutions by locating breaches, holes and seam voids which limits future warranty claims.
Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) is used as a quality control test to scan the roofing or waterproofing membrane and pinpoints any breaches during construction. With TruGround under the membrane, ELD testing can also be performed for the life of the roof. Any future leaks can be quickly located and repaired long before extensive damage occurs.

The low voltage IntegriScan equipment includes the scanning platform which is capable of testing both non-conductive and semi-conductive horizontal membranes. Semi-conductive membranes include black EPDM, cold fluid coatings containing carbon black, and those with a high moisture content. Also included is a roller apparatus used for testing non-conductive vertical surfaces such as walls, transitions, and details. Both ELD methods are listed in ASTM Guide D7877 and are explained in detail in ASTM Practice D8231.
