Architecture & Design Film Festival – NY

September 25 - September 28

The Architecture & Design Film Festival celebrates the unique creative spirit that drives our industry.

With a curated selection of films, events, and panel discussions, ADFF shares fundamentally human stories that entertain and engage all types of people. Take a look at the film guide to browse the lineup or purchase a pass if you plan on watching multiple films.

Opening night will feature the world premiere of Stardust: The Story of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, followed by an engaging post-screening discussion with director Jim Venturi and architecture critic Martin Filler (The New York Review of Books).

With films touching on sustainability, artistic legacy, community impact, and the built environment, this season’s program promises a thought-provoking exploration of architecture’s influence on the world. ADFF Founder and Director, Kyle Bergman, said, “This year’s lineup is especially meaningful. We’ve selected films that highlight strong female voices in architecture, as well as films that address housing, gentrification, urbanism, and environmental issues. It’s a powerful testament to how film and architecture intersect to tell stories that shape our society.”

International films are another highlight, including the U.S. premiere of E.1027 – Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea, with Swiss director Beatrice Minger in attendance. The festival will also debut two Italian films: The Pavilion on the Water, about architect Carlo Scarpa, and Green over Gray: Emilio Ambasz, with filmmaker Francesca Molteni and architect Steven Holl present for a post-screening discussion.
