Compost and Climate Resilient Landscapes – A USCC Collaboration with the American Society of Landscape Architects

Overview:
Attendees will receive and in depth update on the American Society of Landscape Architects Climate Action Plan from ASLA Immediate Past President, Emily O’Mahoney. This will be followed by a talk from LA CES educator, Charles Duprey on The USCC Seal of Testing Assurance Program and how nation wide compost testing and reporting standards can benefit landscape architects around the country, by providing the compost analysis and supporting documentation necessary to specify compost. Finally, award winning researcher and writer, Dr. Sally Brown will present on the many benefits of targeted compost application on the landscape, focusing on soil health, climate resilience, and the numerical standards used to successfully apply and quantify composts impact on the landscape.
