Green and Nature-Based Infrastructure Solutions for Economic Recovery in New England

The American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (AAAS EPI Center) in consultation with U.S. federal agencies, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 1, will host a webinar examining green and nature-based infrastructure solutions for the New England region. Federal agencies and partner organizations will share examples of successful planning and implementation of green and nature-based infrastructure solutions. Panelists from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as the Trust for Public Lands will explore various opportunities, processes, and access points available to communities for the equitable planning and implementation of green and nature-based infrastructure. Additionally, panelists and other experts will address questions from regional, state, and local decision-makers about their needs.
The two-hour webinar will highlight how collaborative, multi-disciplinary approaches to implement and support green and nature-based infrastructure solutions promote economic development efforts in New England.
