The Farmington Hills City Hall green roof sits atop the city auditorium, the clerk dept., the H.R. department, and a part of the receiving and storage areas. The green roof is helping to lower heating and cooling loads, extend the life of the roof and most importantly: improve the quality and reduce the speed of the storm water. So slow that despite adding approximately 8,000 sq.ft. of building footprint, the existing storm water system did not have to be increased at all.
