Florida International University (FIU) has a new $34 million College of Nursing and Health Sciences facility, named the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Packed with high-tech tools for hands-on learning at FIU’s main campus in West Miami-Dade, the five-story facility is LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. An extensive greenroof is located over the second floor corridor of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus.
Other green features include sun shades.
This is FIU’s first greenroof; see the second, the Florida International University (FIU) School of International and Public Affairs, constructed in 2011.
